Public speaking books are suitable for all speaking levels. If you are currently a good speaker these books will make you’re a great speaker. If you consider your self a master public speaker some books will teach you how to put your skills to use while making a profit. And of course if you are a beginner these books will take you to level needed to make a career out of public speaking. If you could make a living by speaking in front of large groups of people all day why wouldn’t you want to? Of course you would anyone would. It is a well known fact that professionally well written public speaking books can help you do just that.

Public speaking can be learned using a variety of resources. There are public speaking courses, classes, videos and even tutorials. Public speaking courses and classes tend to cost a lot of money. Videos are rather cheap but do they really teach you anything? While some people would rather watch videos or attend classes to improve their public speaking I would rather read public speaking books. If you are anything like me I tend to find reading books as a more effective way of educating me. Public speaking books are a lot less expensive than courses as well. Courses and classes usually take longer than reading books.

We have rules for everything from grammar and
spelling to traffic and behavior. The Internet
is becoming ‘ruled’ as well. You become a SPA’MMER
if you solicit your wares without permission. You
are YELLING if you use capital letters to send your
message and you are rude and inconsiderate if you
expose your email list to everyone in your mailbox
when you forward a little ditty or two.

Now I am convinced that everyone also had rules at
the dinner table. Your Mom taught you etiquette!
She told you to wash your hands before dinner.
Didn’t she tell you to keep your elbows off the
table and put your napkin on your lap and not to
talk with food in your mouth? My Mom was not a
socialite or Miss Manners by any means but these
table RULES were taught early on. The first and
most important one in my book was not to blow your
nose at the table. It sounds so disgusting; why
would anyone do so anyway?

Restaurants have rules. Some don’t take checks.
Some post signs on the door: No shirt; No shoes;
No Service. There are NO Smoking ordinances they
adhere to. Why on earth don’t they have a rule
that says “DO NOT BLOW YOUR NOSE AT THE TABLE”?
I think that should be a rule to enforce at the
dinner table by the proprietor! What makes a person at the next table or even several tables
over decide to BLOW THEIR NOSE while other patrons
are eating is beyond me. Didn’t their mother
teach them anything? Doesn’t the restaurant owner
care about the appetite of others? I guess not
or there would be a rule or a law. Blowing your
nose at the dinner table seems far more offensive
to me than typing in capital letters!
