Graphic educational design programs are available in many types comprising graduate and bachelor’s degree programs, associate degree programs, and certificate programs. There is a comparison of the different features of associate and bachelor’s degree programs in the body of this article and this will help you choose the most appropriate program that is best for your specific needs.

Professional Ranking: Having “only” an associate degree, is an unfairly and unfortunately a negative way in which the degree is perceived. The best and brightest, most talented and smartest will attend a four-year school and that if you didn’t you are “less” than the best; although untrue this is a common belief among some employers. It is not a fair and or accurate evaluation, but it all too commonly thought. You may find it challenging to interview against a person that has their bachelor’s degree if you have an associate since they will likely get the job over you. With nothing else between you the level of education will decide who gets it.

Career Path: The associate degree, which you can get faster than a bachelor’s degree, will help you start your career right away (in two years), and probably achieve getting the same jobs.

Price: Courses for an associate degree do not cost as much as those for a bachelor’s degree. With the associates degree program, costs are less in part due to the fewer number of years of education required.

Either way, as a holder of a bachelor’s degree or as a holder of an associate’s degree, you will proudly enjoy a career in your stimulating and challenging field that will allow you to grow with the technology as time goes on.

This exam, proposed by the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC), will replace the CCRE as well as the three national examinations. It will be available at various examination sites throughout the state, as well as on the Internet.

Generally for the past eight years, passing of one of the three recognized national examinations, namely the CQRID, the NCIDQ, or both parts of the NKBA, plus a supplemental California Codes and Regulations Examination, the CCRE was required to an aspiring Certified Interior Designer. Only one national examination was recognized prior to eight years ago. These examinations are not a part of the required education or experience that are described in the Business & Professions Code, Section 5800.

The purpose for this modification in examinations is to bring the California certification in interior design examination in line with Section 139 of the California Business and Professions Code and to make it available to those who fall under the three categories of education and experience under the law, as well as to those with “experience only”.

In order to become a Certified Interior Designer, candidates and students passing the examination will still need to meet all the other requirements. By providing the prevailing CCRE for an extended time period for those who wish to take it, CCIDC carries on to honor those who have taken one of the current national examinations.
